Modular Type III Porous Liquids Based on Porous Organic Cage Microparticles

چکیده
The dispersion of particulate porous solids in size-excluded liquids has emerged as a method to create Type III liquids, mostly using insoluble microporous materials such metal–organic frameworks and zeolites. Here, the first examples based on organic cages (POCs) are presented. By exploiting solution processability POCs, racemic quasiracemic cage microparticles formed by chiral recognition. Dispersion these range including oils ionic forms stable POC-based liquids. flexible pairing between solid POC particles carrier liquid allows formation compositions, pore sizes, other physicochemical properties suit different applications operating conditions. For example, it is shown that with relatively low viscosities or high thermal stability can be produced. A 12.5 wt% comprising an liquid, [BPy][NTf2], shows CO2 working capacity (104.30 µmol gL?1) significantly higher than neat (37.27 25 100 °C. This colloidally recycled at least ten times without loss capacity.

Porous organic cage crystals: characterising the porous crystal surface.
The characterisation of porous crystalline solids often relies on single crystal X-ray diffraction, which does not give direct information about the surface of the material. Here, crystals of a porous organic cage, CC3-R, are investigated by atomic force microscopy and shown to possess two distinct gas-solid interfaces, proving that the bulk crystal structure is preserved at the porous crystal ...
متن کاملOriented Two‐Dimensional Porous Organic Cage Crystals
The formation of two-dimensional (2D) oriented porous organic cage crystals (consisting of imine-based tetrahedral molecules) on various substrates (such as silicon wafers and glass) by solution-processing is reported. Insight into the crystallinity, preferred orientation, and cage crystal growth was obtained by experimental and computational techniques. For the first time, structural defects i...
متن کاملEngineering Porous Organic Cage Crystals with Increased Acid Gas Resistance.
Both known and new CC3-based porous organic cages are prepared and exposed to acidic SO2 in vapor and liquid conditions. Distinct differences in the stability of the CC3 cages exist depending on the chirality of the diamine linkers used. The acid catalyzed CC3 degradation mechanism is probed via in situ IR and a degradation pathway is proposed and supported with computational results. CC3 cryst...
متن کاملConformer interconversion in a switchable porous organic cage.
Porous organic cage crystals can show unique properties, such as switching from being porous to non-porous in the solid state. Conformer interconversion plays a crucial role in this for the imine cage molecule, CC1. The barriers to interconversion were calculated and found to match experimentally determined values. Calculations suggest that solvent interactions reduce these activation barriers.
متن کاملThree-dimensional protonic conductivity in porous organic cage solids
Proton conduction is a fundamental process in biology and in devices such as proton exchange membrane fuel cells. To maximize proton conduction, three-dimensional conduction pathways are preferred over one-dimensional pathways, which prevent conduction in two dimensions. Many crystalline porous solids to date show one-dimensional proton conduction. Here we report porous molecular cages with pro...
